His passion for coaching was ignited while in university when he volunteered for an academy program at a local youth club. He continued to share his love and knowledge of the game after returning to Brazil in 2012 by volunteering at a local futsal club.

In 2014, Coach Lucas moved to Surrey, BC after getting married and began volunteering as a coach with Surrey United FC. He later became a staff coach at North Delta Soccer Club and Coastal FC, where he currently serves as head coach of two BCSPL teams and runs individual and small-group sessions.
